Through this scheme we are able to provide support to individuals, Registered Housing Provider and private landlords to get onto the gas network. The scheme, to extend Wales and West Utilities gas network to homes and communities who have previously not been able to benefit from a connection to gas mains, comes after agreement with industry regulator, Office of Gas & Electricity Markets (OFGEM).

How do you apply for your Gas Connection

Wales & West Utilities provide funding to householders to connect to the mains gas network. You could qualify for up to £2,303 +VAT towards the cost of connecting your home to the gas supply. The offer applies to existing properties only and you could receive a grant if you meet any one of the following criteria:

• You or your partner is 70 years of age or older
• You or your partner receives key qualifying benefits*
• You would need to spend 10% or more of your household income to heat your home to defined levels of comfort
• You live in an area designated by the energy regulator, for support.

How it works

1. You need to complete and return the Assessment Form. We will let you know without delay if you can receive a contribution towards your gas connection.
2. If you qualify, we will send you a Gas Connection Voucher to pay towards the cost of the gas connection, up to a maximum value of £1,815.
3. You need to send the Voucher, any extra payment if required, and your signed Quotation Acceptance Form, to Wales & West Utilities.
4. Wales & West Utilities will then arrange for your gas connection to take place.

Important Note: You must apply for a contribution towards your gas connection BEFORE you pay Wales & West Utilities for the gas connection.
